The school said it was following instructions from police.
As armed police stood guard, officers approached the address with guns drawn, while a dog team arrived.
Some students from the school have gone to waiting parents, with most children leaving through the other entrance to the school.
The operation, which began shortly before the end of school, is ongoing.
