One person is unaccounted for after several people were evacuated from an Auckland house fire this morning.
“At this time, one person remains unaccounted for and police are urgently working to locate the person outstanding,” a police spokesperson said.
Several others escaped the burning home.
Hato Hone St John said it was notified of the incident at 7.22am and assessed four people in a minor condition at the scene.
Three ambulances, two rapid response units and an operations manager responded.
Photos from the scene showed a villa ablaze on the corner of Symonds and Trafalgar Sts in Onehunga, with brown smoke billowing from the roof.
Fire and Emergency crews at the scene appear to be managing traffic, while efforts are made to put out the blaze.
Shift manager Blair Walklin said crews received reports of the fire just before 7.20am.

Walklin said 12 fire trucks are in attendance from across the city.
Crews are currently working to extinguish and contain the third alarm-level fire.
The blaze will affect Royal Oak Intermediate School’s opening because of road closures in the area, he said.
The school refused to comment when approached by the Herald.

Trafalgar St is closed between Pleasant St and Forbes St, while Symonds St is closed to Aumoana Lane.
Police expect cordons to be in place for most of the day.
“Members of the public are advised to avoid the area while emergency services work at the scene.”
An incident report shows crews from the Onehunga, Ellerslie, Mount Roskill, Balmoral, Auckland City and Ōtara stations attending.
