Defence Force called after suspected grenade found at West Auckland business
An item believed to be an old grenade was found at a West Auckland business this afternoon, sparking calls to police and the Defence Force.
Police said the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) has helped with the disposal of an “old grenade” from a business on The Concourse in Henderson.
“Police were notified of an item located at a commercial premise on The Concourse this afternoon,” police told the Herald.
“Police advised the NZDF EOD [explosive ordnance disposal] team, who have uplifted what is believed to be an old grenade for disposal.”
The NZDF has been approached for comment.
