Six people armed with weapons storm Auckland bar targeting cash
Police are appealing for information after an aggravated robbery at a Three Kings bar over the weekend.
Six people, some armed with weapons, entered the Mt Albert Rd venue just before 10pm on Sunday.
Auckland City West area investigations manager Detective Senior Sergeant Anthony Darvill said the group arrived in a stolen vehicle and targeted cash on the premises.
“The offending was over within minutes, but one patron inside has needlessly been assaulted on multiple occasions by some of the group,” he said.
They suffered minor injuries and were left shaken by the violent incident.
The stolen dark-coloured Nissan Tiida used by the group was found in a nearby area this morning.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant information to come forward.
“I’m asking anyone who was travelling along Mt Albert Rd at the time and saw anything untoward to contact police,” Darvill said.
“The violence on display is unacceptable, and our investigators are working to identify this group and hold them accountable.”
