Post Malone cancels Auckland concert with no reason given
Post Malone has cancelled his upcoming New Zealand concert.
The singer was set to bring his Big Ass World Tour to Auckland’s Go Media Stadium on October 21.
Ticketmaster’s website tonight said “this event has been cancelled”, and “ticket sales have stopped”.
No reason was given for the cancellation.
Other upcoming international tour dates were also postponed.
“We’re gutted to let you know that Post Malone will no longer be headlining Strummingbird, due to the recent postponement of his Asia and Australian tours,” the Australian country music festival’s organisers wrote on social media.
Fellow American artists Tyler Childers and Sam Barber were announced as his replacements.
The Auckland show would have marked the genre-bending hitmaker’s first concert appearance in Aotearoa since his explosive performance at the Outer Fields at Western Springs in November 2023.
Known for hip-hop, pop and country hits such as I Like You, Circles and Rockstar, “Postie”, as he’s affectionately known, is a familiar figure on New Zealand’s live music scene.
He played two Auckland gigs in 2023, two nights at Spark Arena in 2019, and a 2018 show at Trusts Arena.
Malone’s latest album, F-1 Trillion, topped the New Zealand album charts in 2024 and remained in the top 40 for more than five months.
Grammy-winning R&B artist Don Toliver, known for his 2019 hit No Idea, had been announced as his opening act for the Asia leg of the tour, including Australia and New Zealand.
