Person reportedly stabbed in Auckland CBD
A person has reportedly been stabbed on a central Auckland street in the early hours of this morning.
The incident happened near the 77 Convenience Store on Victoria St West, close to the Sky Tower.
An employee at the 24-hour store known as Seven Mart told the Herald he’d swapped with his graveyard shift colleague shortly after police arrived at the scene.
He was informed by the worker and police that there had been an alleged altercation on the footpath outside the 24-hour convenience store, involving two individuals believed to be known to each other, and one of them had been stabbed.
“It happened just round the corner,” he said.

The worker said there were typically people sleeping rough in the area, but it was uncharacteristically quiet this morning when he arrived.
Two police vehicles – one marked and another unmarked – were stationed outside the shop on the corner of Victoria St West and Federal St early this morning.
Just before 7am, three officers were still on the scene. One could be seen speaking to the shopkeeper before two workers showed police something on the shop’s computer.
Police have since left the scene of the incident.
A Hato Hone St John spokesman earlier said the ambulance service was called at 5.43am and sent a critical care unit and a transporting ambulance.
Further information was not yet available as the incident was “still evolving”.
