'Incredibly shaken': Police investigate alleged serious assault at Balclutha campground

Police are investigating an alleged serious assault at a Balclutha campground which left the victim “incredibly shaken”.

Balclutha area response manager Senior Sergeant Robin Hutton said police attended a campground off Charlotte St after the incident.

Police were notified about 2.25pm yesterday.

Hutton said a scene guard was in place overnight and a scene examination was underway today.

“The victim was not physically injured, however is incredibly shaken. We are offering the necessary support,” Hutton said.

Residents are being advised to expect an increased police presence in the area over the coming days.
