Emergency services rush to Christchurch flats as one person seriously injured
One person has been seriously injured after reports of an assault in Christchurch this morning.
Emergency services were called to flats on Opawa Rd in the Waltham area of the city about 11.50am.
Police confirmed they were attending, and that ambulance staff were treating one person for injuries.
Herald reporters at the scene saw police speaking to a man outside one of the apartments.

One Hato Hone St John ambulance and two rapid response vehicles are at the scene, along with two police cars.
A neighbour, who did not want to be named, said there had been “problems” at the block of houses in the past.
One person has been taken to Christchurch Hospital in a serious condition.
St John referred the Herald to police for more information.
