One person has died after a single-vehicle crash in Kaitāia overnight.
Emergency services responded to a vehicle hitting a tree near the intersection of North Rd and Farrimond Pl at around 10.30pm.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.
Police said they are providing support to the family.
Inquiries into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
