'Gorgeous lady': Equestrian community mourns colleague stabbed to death in Europe
The New Zealand equestrian community is paying tribute to a colleague who was allegedly stabbed to death by a stranger in Germany.
British woman Rebecca Bullock, 31, was attacked at the Rosenheim train station in Bavaria on August 30 and later died in hospital, local police say.
Equestrian Sports New Zealand (ESNZ) yesterday said that a celebration of life was held for Bullock, a former hospitality contractor.
“Becca was an integral part of our Badminton Lakeside Pavilions core team, helping to run the bar for a number of years.
“A gorgeous lady who took everything in her stride, smiled through any tough times & loved the countryside & horses,” ESNZ said.
ESNZ told the Herald Bullock was most recently pictured in May at the 2026 Badminton Horse Trials in South Gloucestershire, England.
She was seen alongside Equestrian Sports New Zealand’s UK events and sponsorship co-ordinator Ginny Loisel.
The organisation acknowledged Bullock’s contribution and hard work, and sent condolences to her family and friends.
“She will be sorely missed.”

The White Swan pub in Whitchurch, Buckinghamshire, where Bullock was a manager, said she was much loved by the team and locals.
Floral tributes were left outside the pub by patrons.
The BBC reported the British woman was on holiday when she was killed.
Meanwhile, the Independent reported that, according to friends, Bullock was on her way to Austria to support a friend at a funeral when the incident took place.
A fundraising page set up by her family described Bullock as loving the countryside, the farm where she lived and her animals.

“In her memory, we would like to plant some trees or a small woodland. A place where we can sit and remember her.”
Bavarian police said a 27-year-old German man of no fixed address was arrested at the scene.
The man was later detained in a psychiatric hospital on suspicion of murder.
