Body of missing fisherman found on west coast rocks
The body of a fisherman missing off the west coast of the North Island has been found.
Dilane Harding, 55, was reported missing by family on June 18 when he didn’t come home from fishing off Paparoa Rock, on the west coast of Tahāroa.
Police were called after a family member found his vehicle with his dog still inside and his belongings near his usual fishing spot on Paparoa Rock.

Police confirmed today that a body was sighted by the Eagle helicopter on rocks near Albatross Point during the search on Saturday morning.
The body was recovered yesterday and was formally identified as Harding.
Police said his death had been referred to the Coroner.
Paparoa Rock is a remote spot near the Tahāroa Ironsands mine.
It is only accessible by rough farm tracks or beach access through the mine.
