A person has died following a crash in Wainuiomata this afternoon.
Police were notified at 12.15pm a car had crashed into a fence on Wellington Rd in the Lower Hutt suburb, and the driver was in a critical condition.
The person received immediate medical assistance but died at the scene.
The Serious Crash Unit is in attendance and Wellington Rd is closed between Dublin St and Kent St.
