A person has died in hospital two days after a South Auckland crash in which a vehicle hit a tree and flipped onto its side on a residential street.
Police confirmed this morning that a person died in hospital on Thursday, following the crash on Eugenia Rise, Totara Heights, last Tuesday.
Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle crash about 1.23am.
The vehicle had hit a tree and flipped onto its side in the middle of the road, a police spokesperson said.
One person suffered moderate injuries, and one was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
“Sadly, they passed away in hospital on Thursday evening,” said a police spokesperson.
The Serious Crash Unit attended the scene.
Inquiries into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
