One killed in Pleasant Valley crash near Geraldine
One person has died and another has been injured following a crash in Pleasant Valley, near Geraldine on Saturday night.
Emergency services were called to the Geraldine-Fairlie Highway, at the intersection with Slacks Valley Rd, just after 9pm.
One of the occupants of the single vehicle crash died at the scene, and the second was taken to hospital after suffering moderate injuries.
The Serious Crash Unit attended, and police say inquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
Further south, delays are expected on Caversham Valley Rd in Dunedin following a crash overnight.
The single vehicle crash near Mornington Rd was reported just after 1.10am. One person sustained serious injuries.
The road is closed northbound and detours are in place. Motorists are advised to avoid the area, if possible. The road is expected to remain closed for several hours this morning.
