Police have released the name of the man who died after a crash in Port Chalmers.
He was John Douglas Taylor, 44, of Milton.
Emergency services were called to Wickliffe Terrace about 9.10pm on Friday, January 30, after a single-vehicle crash.
Taylor died at the scene.

Two other people were in the vehicle at the time.
One suffered serious injuries and another sustained minor injuries.
A 24-year-old man has since appeared in the Dunedin District Court charged with dangerous driving causing death and failing to stop to ascertain injury.

He has interim name suppression and will reappear in court later this month.
The Serious Crash Unit attended the scene and the crash is being investigated.
“Police extended their condolences to Mr Taylor’s family and friends,” a spokesperson said.
