Two dead after car and motorcycle crash in Rotorua
Two people have died after a car and motorcycle crashed in Rotorua.
Police were called to the crash near the intersection of Te Ngae Rd and Rotokawa Rd in Ōwhata about 9.40pm last night.
The driver and passenger of the motorcycle were found dead at the scene, police said.
The road was closed overnight while the Serious Crash Unit carried out a scene examination.

It reopened about 5.40am today.
Police said inquiries into the circumstances of the crash were ongoing.
Hato Hone St John said it was notified of the incident at 9.41pm and sent one ambulance and a rapid response unit to the scene.
Crews assessed and treated one patient, who was transported to Rotorua Hospital.
St John referred further questions about the incident to police.
