New Zealand Olympic rowing stars Tom Mackintosh and Davina Waddy have announced their engagement, sharing a sweet milestone moment with fans on social media.
The couple wrote in a joint Instagram post: “9 years down and 999 to go”.
The pair, both 29, beamed with excitement in one photo taken just moments after the proposal, with Waddy proudly showing off a striking emerald engagement ring.
Mackintosh popped the question atop a rolling farm hill, later sharing a playful image of grass stuck to his knee.
Waddy, also shared a precious snap featuring the couple’s miniature dachshund, who joined in on the romantic moment.
Mackintosh won gold for New Zealand in the men’s eight at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
He was later named Male Rower of the Year at the 2021 New Zealand Rowing Championships.
Waddy claimed bronze at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, competing in the women’s four event.
