A man has been arrested after a woman died at a Raumati Beach property on the Kāpiti Coast overnight.

Police were called to the Matatua Rd address about 1.15am with reports someone had been injured and discovered the woman’s body.

A 24-year-old man has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm

Police say they are considering more charges.

The scene was guarded overnight and a forensic team will examine it today.

The man is due to appear in Porirua District Court later today.

Police are asking anyone who has information to call 105, and reference the case number 260209/8606.
