"Very disappointing": Women-only gym owner hits back at controversial review about woman's clothing
A controversial review of Wānaka’s FitGym has made headlines this week, criticising the way some female gym-goers were dressed.
As well as complaining about the $59 sign-up fee, the reviewer declared that “too many women dressed like they’re working in a strip club”.
Carla De Nijs is the founder of the women-only gym Tru The Real You, which recently opened a Christchurch location. She joined John MacDonald to react to the review and discuss why dedicated spaces for women continue to play an important role in helping people feel comfortable and confident while exercising.
