OUSA president rejects claims university impacted by attendance crisis

Otago University's Students’ Association is rejecting claims of a student attendance crisis.
An academic has told the ODT low lecture attendance is an ongoing concern, with as few as 30 percent at some lectures.
Association president Daniel Leamy says he hasn't seen a crisis - but numbers evidently haven't rebounded since Covid.
He explained people say students are lazy - but university isn't cheap these days, so people are working more hours.
