Hope National's energy policy would drive down power prices

One of the country's most outspoken solar advocates is all for National's new nine point energy plan.

The party's campaigning on letting households and businesses with solar or batteries sell to any power company, not just the one they buy from.

It's would also launch the Home Energy Fund, giving Kiwis low-interest, long-term loans to invest in their own power.

Rewiring Aotearoa CEO Mike Casey told Andrew Dickens believes this will make a huge difference in driving down power prices.

He says this is a world-leading plan, and would be a great way to accelerate the energy transition, making the market much more fair for Kiwis.
