A new name and new plans have been unveiled for Auckland's Western Springs Stadium.
The Western Springs Bowl will serve as a dedicated outdoor venue for major concerts during summer.
Outside of the concert season, it will operate as a boutique sports stadium for sports like rugby.
Tātaki Auckland Unlimited CEO Nick Hill says it'll take a year to really get the stadium going, but they're hoping to book shows that attract audiences of between 15,000 and 30,000.
"It's based on the fact that it's a much lower-cost option now to put on a show there, it's better for the promoters, it's better for the artists, and it really does support smaller shows in a fantastic outdoor setting."
