Off the back of reaching 8 percent in the latest Roy Morgan poll, the Opportunity Party has released their long term plan for funding infrastructure.

Opportunity says it will direct 60 percent of infrastructure spending to maintenance and raise up to $60 billion over ten years through a new infrastructure fund.

Party leader Qiulae Wong says these costs will be covered by additional borrowing.

"We do believe that New Zealand's balance sheet is in good enough order, particularly to borrow to invest in our future. I think what we've seen is a bit of a simplification of the debts."
