'Dumb idea': Mayor Wayne Brown condemns proposed Orewa development

Auckland's mayor is calling a new residential development near Orewa a 'really dumb idea'.
The 1200-home Delmore housing project has been granted fast track approval.
Watercare has made it clear it can't connect services to the site before 2033, and potentially not until at least 2050.
Mayor Wayne Brown says the council will end up picking up issues with water and transport down the track.
"Four or five idiots in Wellington, who only someone in Wellington would call experts, are being able to make decisions for years to come - instead of the people who've been elected to run this city."
