'Difficult to say': Former US Ambassador on what Trump rejecting Iran deal could mean for mid-terms

There's uncertainty if the looming mid-term elections will influence Trump's handling of Iran. 

The US President's rejected an Iranian proposal to open the Strait of Hormuz within seven days - saying Iran was losing badly.

Tehran's Foreign Ministers says the only way to end the conflict is with a negotiated solution.

Former US Ambassador in the Middle East, David Satterfield, says the economy will unquestionably hurt Trump at the mid-terms. 

"Is the mid-term, is that November date a trigger point, somehow, for some different strategy - either immediately before or after? It's very difficult to say."
