"Pretty concerning picture": New water infrastructure report shows a 'system under pressure'

There’s some optimism for the country's water future despite a bleak report into our infrastructure.  

The Water Services Authority's third annual Network Environmental Performance Report finds there's an average 31 wastewater overflows a day. 

It also finds about 15% of assessed drinking and wastewater pipes are in poor condition.  

The authority's Sara McFall told Mike Hosking in many cases, the condition of infrastructure is unknown.  

She says it is good to see the increased use of water meters, which lower water use and identify leaks.
