"Should have known better": ACT criticises Corrections for 'woke' prison massage plan

A plan's been halted to roll out Rongoa Māori health services to all prisons, including traditional massages. 

Newstalk ZB can reveal the expected $9 million programme would have offered the traditional Māori health services to prisoners across the country. 

It included spiritual work and the holistic healing mirimiri massage. 

ACT’s Todd Stephenson told Mike Hosking it shows how woke and out of touch some parts of our public service are, and Corrections should’ve known better. 

He says victims of crime would be outraged to know that this kind of money is being spent on these kinds of services for prisoners.
