"Sort of a love letter": Adam Kay set to bring seasonally appropriate new comedy show to NZ

Doctor turned author and comedian Adam Kay is heading back to New Zealand with a new show. 

He's best-known for his memoir, 'This Is Going To Hurt', which chronicles his former career as a junior doctor in the UK. 

But this December, he's bringing a new, thematically appropriate show to our shores – 'Twas the Nightshift Before Christmas'.  

The show began as a book, filled with all the specifically Christmas themed diary entries that were removed from the first book. 

"I started getting up on stage around Christmas, where I lived at the time in London, and putting on a little show, and that slightly snowballed," he told Jack Tame. 

"Now it's sort of, it's a love letter to all the people who give up their Christmas Days and Boxing Days and New Years Eves to keep the rest of us on the road."
