Counties-Manukau have beaten Hawke's Bay 12-7 in a thrilling first defence in the final round of the NPC.
The Steelers scored two first half tries, but were held scoreless after the break as the Magpies closed the gap - but Counties held on to keep the Log O' Wood until 2027.
