Celebrating 100 Years of ZB - Commemorative Broadcast
It’s been 100 years since the ZB call sign was heard for the first time – the station officially hitting the airwaves in Auckland on August 9th, 1926.
Launched as 1ZB, it began as a music and lifestyle station before changing track and becoming the news powerhouse it’s known as today.
Originally the station was only able to broadcast for a few hours a week between the hours of 7pm and 10pm, so to mark the occasion, we revisited the time slot for a special commemorative show.
