Charges have been laid after a pot of spaghetti was thrown at an Auckland cafe window.

Video from The Hideout Espresso Bar on Symonds St on Monday, April 27 appears to show a man throwing the food at the window.

It is understood the dispute unfolded after a disagreement between business owners about an overflowing bin.

Anderson Mar, who owns The Hideout Espresso Bar, spoke to the Herald shortly after the incident and said the pair had become involved in a physical confrontation.

Senior Sergeant Shaun Richardson, Auckland City area response manager, told the Herald a 39-year-old man has been charged with assault and disorderly behaviour.

He will appear in the Auckland District Court tomorrow.
