Woman arrested after BB gun fired at Ponsonby ad agency, parked car
An inner-city Auckland advertising agency is thankful no one was hurt after its office was hit during an incident where a BB gun was fired.
Bastion Aotearoa told the Herald that shots were fired at its Ponsonby Rd office this morning, leaving “two indents” in a window.
Police confirmed the weapon was a BB gun and a parked car was also damaged, with photos from the scene showing multiple bullet holes in the vehicle’s windscreen.

“Thankfully, nobody was hurt and a police investigation is underway,” Bastion Aotearoa managing director communications and experience Joanna James said.
“We don’t think it’s a gunshot, we don’t know. We’ve had what seems like it could be a BB gun or an air rifle.”
Police said a woman is in custody “after a BB gun was discharged in Ponsonby this morning”.

“At around 11am, police received a report that a BB gun had been discharged at a commercial premises and at an unoccupied car on Ponsonby Rd,” Detective Senior Sergeant Rebecca Kirk, of Auckland City CIB, told the Herald.
“Thankfully, no one was injured as a result. A 47-year-old woman was located nearby and arrested. Inquiries are ongoing and charges are pending.”

Two police cars were parked outside the multi-storey office building as officers appeared to search for the weapon in nearby bushes.
