‘Slid on the road’: Diesel spill sends drivers skidding, causes delays on busy Auckland road
A diesel spill on a key road in Takapuna is causing headaches for some Auckland commuters this morning.
Police are urging road-users to take care after several reports of vehicles sliding on Lake Rd, the only arterial road out of Devonport.
“Officers are attending areas along Lake Rd after reports several motorbikes, bicycle riders and cars have slid on the road due to the substance,” a police statement said.
“The diesel has potentially been tracked from Esmonde Rd down to Devonport.”
Emergency services would be in the area until the spill was dealt with.
Delays were expected and people should avoid the area if possible.
