Man dies after electric scooter crash in Christchurch
A man has died after an electric scooter crash in Christchurch.
Emergency services responded to the crash on Antigua St near the Burke St intersection at 12.10am on Sunday.
The scooter rider received serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
“Despite best efforts from medical professionals, the man died in hospital,” police said.
Police said at this stage they do not believe another vehicle was involved, but inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
Police would like to speak with anyone who may have been in the Antigua St and Burke St areas at the time of the crash, or who may have CCTV footage in the area.
The man was wearing a light-coloured jacket over a New Zealand Warriors top, blue jeans and sneakers.
Anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage in the area is asked to review their footage and contact police if they see anything that may assist with inquiries.
