Police cordon off Palmerston North suburb, public told to stay away
People are being asked to stay away from an area in Palmerston North as police respond to an incident.
Acting Manawatū Area Commander Inspector Phil Ward said the public is advised to avoid the area around Wilson Cres, Highbury, which has been blocked off.
An increased police presence is expected to continue throughout the afternoon.
Ward said police do not believe there is a risk to the public and further details will be released in time.
