Thousands of tickets still available for All Blacks' Cape Town tour opener

Thousands of tickets are still available for the All Blacks’ first fixture of their seven-week tour of South Africa.
The All Blacks kick off Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry tour in Cape Town on August 8 at 5am NZT against the Stormers.
However, according to the official ticketing website, thousands of seats are still up for grabs at DHL Stadium, particularly behind both posts in the north “family” stand and south “party” stand.
Tickets in these parts of the stadium are selling for ZAR650 ($67), but cheaper ones going for ZAR350 ($36) are still available slightly further back.
The All Blacks’ test match against the Springboks at the same stadium at the end of August has already sold out, while the first test at Ellis Park has very few seats still available.
The All Blacks played in front of a packed crowd the last time they played at DHL Stadium in September 2024, losing 18-12 to the Springboks and making it their fourth consecutive defeat to the South Africans in 75 years.

A spokesperson for the Stormers said the club are not involved in selling tickets or putting on the event.
South Africa Rugby has been contacted for comment.
Despite plenty of tickets still being up for sale, the stadium will be considerably more full than when the Stormers played the British and Irish Lions in 2021.
No fans were allowed in the stadium for that fixture because of Covid restrictions, with the touring side rampaging to a dominant 49-3 victory.
The Lions would go on to lose the test series against the Springboks despite winning the first match 22-17.
This is the first time in 30 years the All Blacks have been on a tour like this, and they will play all four South African clubs playing in Europe’s United Rugby Championship.
After the Stormers, the All Blacks travel to Durban to play the Sharks on August 12 and then to Pretoria to face the Bulls on August 16, with all games kicking off at 5am NZT.
The first test will be on August 23 at 3am NZT at Johannesburg’s Ellis Park and is followed by a match against the Lions three days later in the same stadium.
The remaining tests will be at Cape Town’s DHL Stadium on August 30 and FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on September 6, both starting at 3am NZT, with the final match being taken to Baltimore on September 13 with a 9am NZT kick-off.
