'Opportunity to simplify': Employers welcome Govt's planned tweaks to RSE scheme

Kiwifruit growers are welcoming seasonal workers being given more flexibility to change jobs.
The Government's tweaking the RSE scheme, focusing on accommodation standards, clarifying rules, and strengthening pastoral care.
It includes making online access for workers mandatory and creating more opportunity for them to switch between accredited employers.
New Zealand Kiwifruit Growers Incorporated CEO Colin Bond told Andrew Dickens that they’re changes employers, and the Pacific, have been asking for for a while.
He says that after 20 years, the schemes gotten very complex, so this is an opportunity to simplify and make sure everyone understands the requirements of the scheme.
