Labour has outlined their stance on the recent Biometric Capability Upgrade project saga - and claimed MBIE's Nic Blakely should have resigned from the role.

Last week, Parliament’s Privileges Committee found Blakeley was among officials who deliberately misled MPs by not revealing the project had been scrapped.

Labour MP Phil Twyford says the report was debated in Parliament today - so it felt appropriate to showcase the party's stance on the matter.

"This is such an important issue... these very senior public servants came to Parliament specifically to answer questions from MPs about the public money being spent by these ministries. This is Parliament's role - holding the executive or the Government of the day to account."
