Auckland's mayor is signalling interest in partially funding a second Harbour crossing, if it's his preferred option.
The Government's announced a fresh business case in another Waitemata crossing - looking at either a bridge or a tunnel, and funding options including tolling.
It will also consider a bridge over Meola Reef, which Wayne Brown argues is more cost-effective.
He says there has to be a change in how NZTA thinks about things, and that it's better to partially fund something the Council has input in, rather than what he calls 'dumb ideas'.
