"We can't wait": Govt signs regional deal aimed to support Otago's growth
There's confidence the Government and Otago councils can work together to keep up with the region's growth.
The Government's formally signed a regional deal with Queenstown Lakes, Central Otago, and Otago Regional Councils.
It aims to improve planning coordination over the next 30 years, with ministers promising to meet local leaders every six months.
Queenstown Mayor John Glover told Mike Hosking there's been huge investment locally as the region's grown over the past two decades.
But he says the area hasn't seen investment in energy supply, education, health, and state highways.
