'Great to be back': Karl Urban returns to NZ for new film I, Object

Kiwi actor Karl Urban's managed to find significant success overseas, but he's returned to New Zealand for his new role in an upcoming local film.
Between The Boys, Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, and Thor: Ragnarok, his credit list of big international hits is extensive.
He returned to star in Andrew Nicol’s new film I, Object back in 2024 and he says it's great to be filming near where he grew up.
"I was actually shooting over in Australia and I was approached to do the voice of one of the objects in the movie, and then I promptly got another callback saying - 'would you consider the role of Frank?' And it seemed to me I've had a lot of fun doing that and I really wanted to work with Andrew."
