Former Goldenhorse lead singer Kirsten Morrell denies her new solo project has been a long time coming - but it kind of was.
Over 20 years ago, iconic Kiwi pop band Goldenhorse was putting out music - but since the group broke up, Morrell stayed involved in the scene.
She released her first solo album in 2010 and her second album, Morrelium, recently came out last Friday.
"I'd been pent-up creatively for years, I didn't feel permission because of the Goldenhorse hiatus thing - I didn't feel a permission to be me or to be free creatively."
