Manhunt continues two days after alleged machete assault in West Auckland home
Police are continuing to investigate after two people were allegedly assaulted with a machete at a home in West Auckland.
The victims were seriously injured in an aggravated burglary incident on Ahiriri Ave in Avondale about 3.20am on Tuesday, police Detective Senior Sergeant Rebecca Kirk said.
Two days after the incident, police said inquiries are ongoing.
A group of people were socialising when two unknown men approached the house.
“A physical altercation ensued and two people were wounded by a weapon one of the males had in his possession,” Kirk said after the attack.
“The pair then attempted to steal from the address but were unsuccessful and fled in a vehicle prior to police arrival.”
Police were yet to locate those responsible and the manhunt continues.
