West Auckland stabbings: Police commend 'brave' neighbours, woman charged
A woman has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in West Auckland.
The incident happened on Kirby St in Glendene on Sunday at 11.40pm, where three people were hospitalised with injuries.
Two of those were in a critical condition, with police confirming this morning two people were located with “injuries consistent with knife wounds”.
Police have confirmed a woman has been charged with attempted murder.
The three people were known to each other and police were not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
A neighbour, one of the first to the scene, told the Herald a baby was among those badly injured.
Waitematā west area investigations manager Detective Senior Sergeant Adam Lough has thanked the neighbours for their bravery.

“Neighbours came to these people’s aid prior to emergency services arriving on the scene.
“We are very grateful for their assistance and bravery with what can only be described as a very confronting and upsetting scene.”
Court documents seen by the Herald show a 33-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder of one person.
“One person has undergone surgery and remains in a critical condition,” said Lough.
Another person suffered moderate injuries and was recovering at home while the third person was in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
A neighbour living next door told the Herald they went to the property after hearing yelling and crying just before midnight.
She was told the baby had been taken to Starship Hospital.
“We appreciate the public’s interest in what has occurred here,” said Lough.
“However, the welfare of two people is at the forefront of this, and their privacy is paramount as they recover from this traumatic event.”
The woman was due to appear in Waitākere District Court today.
