Person in critical condition after alleged assault in central Auckland

One person is critically injured following an assault in Central Auckland.
Acting Inspector Warwick Stainton said emergency services were called to Wellesley Street East, near Rutland Street, about 6.45pm on Tuesday.
“One person was located with critical injuries and has been transported to hospital.
“One person has been taken into custody.”

Stainton said cordons were in place while inquiries into the incident take place.
At 7pm, St John confirmed it had an ambulance at the scene.
