Man hospitalised after shark attack in Western Australia
A man has been taken to hospital after a shark attack in Western Australia.
The state government and local ambulance service said the man, in his 50s, was attacked by a shark on Glenfield Beach in Geraldton, about 400km north of Perth.
The incident is believed to have happened about 40m offshore.
The man is believed to have suffered injuries to his foot.
Parts of the beach, a popular surfing spot in the area, have been closed off while authorities investigate the incident.
Locals were advised to “take additional caution” around the beach.
The man’s condition is not yet known.
