"We want an ambitious trade agenda": Dairy sector lays out priorities for next govt
The Dairy Companies Association has laid out its priorities for the next government.
The five points include biosecurity, bipartisan infrastructure and energy, streamlined food regulation, and food and nutrition policy based on science and clear labelling.
It also calls for an ambitious trade agenda, saying 43% of global dairy consumption remains outside of our FTA coverage.
Chair Guy Roper told Mike Hosking demand for our high value product is growing.
He says they want new trade agreements advanced in places like Bangladesh and Nigeria, where dairy is in favour.
