'Shattered' family of couple slain in North Shore killings left reeling
Family of a man and woman killed on Auckland’s North Shore say they are “shattered” as they come to grips with the tragedy.
Two people described by neighbours as “nice, quiet people” were found dead and a third person was injured at two homes in neighbouring suburbs on Tuesday night.

A 41-year-old man has been charged with two counts of murder and one of attempted murder.
He was due to appear in North Shore District Court yesterday.
A nephew of the slain couple who lives overseas, told the Herald the family is “shattered” by the tragedy.
He said his father had now lost his only surviving brother and is asking for privacy as he comes to term with his loss.
Police were called to a home on Seon Pl, Birkdale at 8.21pm after reports a person had been stabbed.
Acting Detective Inspector Megan Goldie said a man at the home received moderate injuries and was taken to hospital.
The accused man was arrested at the scene.

After a conversation, a welfare check was done at a property on Lingfield St in Glenfield 5kms away, where a man and woman were found dead.
Goldie said there was no ongoing threat to the wider community.
“This is an awful set of events. I know this will leave many in our community unsettled, but what I can say at this early stage of the investigation is that the offender and victims are all known to each other,” she said.
No one else was being sought in relation to the incident.
A Lingfield St neighbour said about six police cars lined the street when he got home from work about 11pm.
He said he would occasionally stop and talk to the people living in the house, and that they were “nice, quiet people”.
“It’s very sad.”
A neighbour of the Seon Pl address told the Herald his mother ran into his room and told him to look outside.
“It was pretty scary. The street was lined with cops and there were about 10 of them with flashlights surrounding the property.
“Meanwhile a guy was getting arrested out on the street.”
