Skier injured after going off cliff at South Island ski field
A skier has been injured after going off a cliff at Treble Cone ski area near Wānaka.
Police said they were first advised of a potentially injured skier on the ski field around 11.40am.
It was reported that the skier had possibly gone over a cliff, they said.
The skier was then extracted by emergency services at approximately 1.15pm.

Hato Hone St John said it was “notified of an incident” at Treble Cone at 11.39am, dispatching one helicopter.
One patient has been airlifted to Dunedin Hospital, a spokesperson said.
The status of the injured skier is not yet clear.
Treble Cone Ski Area is the closest ski field to Wānaka and is operated by Cardona Alpine Resort.
It has a mixture of intermediate, advanced and expert terrain.
