Netball NZ claims new competition to replace Mowbray league in the works
Netball New Zealand admits it's back to the drawing board in trying to set up an elite domestic league.
Having turned their backs on Anna Mowbray and Ali Williams' plan, CEO Jennah Wootten says work is underway with their zones and teams to re-look at activity that was started earlier this year.
She says Netball NZ has objectives and principles from the outset and they had to protect the long-term interests of the sport.
"What I can say is - the fundamentals for us were really clear from the outset, that's why we did take quite a bit of time to flesh out the term sheet in the hopes that the big things were really understood before we went too far."
